Glass, Textile & Felt Cleaning & Care

Some Polyvision products and solutions include additional surface materials such as glass, textile and felt. These materials each require their own cleaning approach to help preserve their appearance, texture and long-term performance.

Glass surface cleaning

Glass surfaces should be cleaned with a soft cloth and a suitable glass cleaner. Spray the cleaner onto the cloth rather than directly onto the surface, especially near edges, frames or mounted components. Wipe the surface evenly and dry it with a clean cloth to avoid streaks. For fingerprints, dust or light marks, regular glass cleaner is usually sufficient. Avoid abrasive pads, scouring powders or sharp tools. These can scratch or damage the glass surface.

Textile surface cleaning

Textile surfaces should be cleaned carefully to avoid damaging the fabric structure. For regular maintenance, remove dust with a soft brush or vacuum cleaner with a suitable upholstery attachment. For stains, act as soon as possible. Gently blot the area with a clean cloth. Do not rub aggressively, as this can spread the stain or damage the textile. Use only cleaning products that are suitable for textile surfaces. Always test on a small, less visible area before cleaning a larger surface.

Felt surface cleaning

Felt surfaces require gentle cleaning. For regular care, remove dust with a soft brush or vacuum cleaner with a suitable attachment. If a mark or stain appears, blot the area gently with a clean cloth. Avoid using too much water, as this can affect the shape, texture or appearance of the felt. Do not scrub the surface. Excessive rubbing can damage the fibers and alter the material’s visual appearance.

What not to use

Do not use abrasive pads, steel wool, scouring powders or sharp scraping tools on glass, textile or felt surfaces. Avoid aggressive chemicals unless they are specifically approved for the material. Cleaning products that work well on one surface may not be suitable for another.

Product-specific care

Glass, textile and felt can be used in different product combinations. The best cleaning method may depend on the exact product, installation and environment.
