Sustainability

At Polyvision we care about the impact our products have on the world. Not only do they facilitate learning, teaching, and collaboration; they’re also extremely durable and often have a useful life of over 25 years.

Add to that, our continuous struggle to minimize the waste and emissions that go along with our manufacturing process and you’ll understand why CeramicSteel became Europe’s first Cradle to Cradle certified product in 2006.

Apart from being Cradle to Cradle Bronze certified, which focuses on the reusability and recyclability of our ingredient materials as well as on water consumption and waste generation, CeramicSteel contains no VOCs.

That makes it the perfect material to be Indoor Advantage Gold Certified, verifying it supports healthy indoor environment requirements with regard to indoor air quality.

Reaching Targets

But we weren’t satisfied with that. So we set ourselves the ambitious target to lower our ecological footprint with 25% by 2020, using 2010 as a reference year. We resolved to work on four fronts

  • Water consumption
  • Total waste
  • CO2 emission
  • Usage of solvents

Consistent Improvement

After surpassing our initial target, we now want to take it a step further as we’ve realized sustainability is so much more than “merely” protecting the environment. It’s also about diversity, equality, eradicating hunger and well-being.

That’s why, in 2022, we signed up for our next journey: to become a UN SDG Pioneer by 2025.

Moving forward, our focus lies in three main areas:

  • Well-being at work
  • Electricity consumption reduction
  • Material Innovation
