Polyvision partnered with iDA Workplace and Steelcase to create a new learning space at the Sir Horace Kadoorie Youth Development Centre in Shanghai, China.

In China’s rural areas, many young people face the realities of poverty and limited opportunities for education. Because of this, The Sir Horace Kadoorie Youth Development Centre has set out to provide opportunities for students through their Hospitality and Mentoring Programme (SHKHMP) in Shanghai. When Polyvision was approached to partner with designers from iDA Workplace and Steelcase to create a beautiful and collaborative space for students in the program, the Asia-Pacific team was excited to play a role. We asked our APAC Senior Regional Sales Manager Matthew Clarke what the project meant to his team, and he said “We are thrilled to be a part of what the Kadoorie Foundation is doing. It’s inspiring to watch these students communicate and connect through Polyvision’s collaborative products, and gain life skills necessary for their future careers.”

The new space at the Sir Horace Kadoorie Youth Development Centre has been designed to encourage collaboration and hands-on learning. A warm, welcoming atmosphere with bright, modern finishes sets the tone for a progressive and lively educational experience. Clarke elaborates on the way Polyvision decided the Kadoorie Foundation was the right fit, saying “Our mission is to make the world a better place. We do this by creating products that enhance visual experiences in classrooms, corporate spaces…. really anywhere people collaborate! We are committed to equipping the next generation of leaders with tools that can help them learn and succeed throughout their education and vocational training.” By providing the tools students in SHKHMP needed to take their education to new heights, Polyvision was able to continue fulfilling our promise, as well.
