Surface Care and Cleaning

What is the cleaning process for a3 CeramicSteel?
The surface can be cleaned with a medium to strong detergent solution which can be spray applied. Glass cleaning products containing ammonia will work very well on the surface. The surface can be scrubbed clean using scrubbing brushes. All detergent washings should be followed with a clean water rinse. The surface is extremely durable; the detergent/brushing process should be adequate to remove most normal atmospheric dirt and stains. Spot cleaning of stubborn stains may be accomplished by using scouring powder and water, nylon scouring pads, fine steel wool or solvent based materials such as acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, toluene, alcohol, mineral spirits or paint remover.

Attention: Be sure to read and follow all manufacturers’ labels for the materials used during care/cleaning procedures. Always work in a well ventilated area and use proper equipment such as protective clothing, eye protection, gloves and respirators.

Will the Surface Imaging and artwork be harmed during cleaning?
Panel colors and images will not be harmed. Just like the CeramicSteel surface itself, graphics and patterns are fired in the range of 700 – 900 oC (1292 – 1652 oF) and are integrated into the top ceramic coating.

How often do you recommend cleaning the surface?
The a3 CeramicSteel panels require no regular maintenance. Cleaning and care instructions are available for all PolyVision surfaces on polyvision.com.

What should I consider when unpacking CeramicSteel?
Delivery vehicles should be offloaded with a forklift. Prior to offloading, inspect pallets for signs of visible damage. Immediately report any visible damage, including broken pallets, broken straps or any other potential issues. Take digital photographs if possible.

What should I consider when handling CeramicSteel?
Handling and moving CeramicSteel sheets and panels should only be done by trained personnel. Panels should always be lifted and moved in a vertical position by two people wearing safety gloves. Do not remove the protective film from the surface until installation.

What should I consider when storing CeramicSteel?
Pallets containing a3 CeramicSteel panels should be stacked no more than three high in a dry area free of debris. Pallets should never be stored vertically or in such a way that the corners are vulnerable to damage. For additional handling and processing instructions, contact your sales manager.
